Introduction
I have demonstrated my understanding of web design principles and ability to analyse a web site and to present my findings effectively.
The website I have chosen is AGH Solicitors which are an established legal firm based in Bolton. 
Description of site
The purpose of the website is to serve the needs of current and future clients. This website helps AGH Solicitors to gain clients and to increase public awareness of the company’s name and identity. The website provides information on the kind of service they provide such as legal services and legal advice for example accidents, immigration and nationality or any legal issues that clients have.
The websites intended users are people who have cases and need legal help such as accident claims, immigration matters etc. AGH solicitors aim to provide a genuine customer service and promise to provide straightforward, professional and specialist advice.
Advantages and disadvantages of the website
The website I have chosen is good at interacting with visitors and it allows the users to surf the website efficiently. The website is designed with the site visitors in mind as it is focused on visitor’s expectations. The use of images is good as it’s attractive. The website has good usability as the website functions are easy for visitors to grasp. Also the website has been carefully planned out focusing on visitors needs. The use of symbols to link information can help people with physiological barriers to surf the website effectively and easily.
They provide electronic mail links where you can write to the firm’s lawyers to discuss legal matters.
The disadvantages are that the use of colours are quite dull and doesn’t attract the attention of the user. It needs to have a certain structure throughout the website, this website look very unorganised and not professionally designed. Each page on the website has different use of font and style of writing. Each page has it own kind of structure and looks very different.
Analysis of two tasks
The first task I had carried out was to email a solicitor to speak to him about my accident query. I emailed him using the link provided on the website. I wrote about my accident and asked them to speak to an adviser to discuss my matter.
This task was unsuccessful as I have not received my reply. This is another disadvantage of the website as I haven’t had a response.
The second task I have carried out is the contact form, where I provided my details to be contacted back about certain information I had requested. When I submitted the form, there were no communication to say whether it has been sent or not and have not yet received any information or been contacting by them either.
Evaluation
Therefore to evaluate as a whole, the website has its advantages and disadvantages. But I feel that the two tasks that I carried out shows exactly what the website is like, because there was no response. The website is not affective but can easily be functioned by the user. They have targeted the age group really well and have presented themselves well. But in general the website needs a bit more work and attention in terms of the two tasks I carried.
